Prophetic Teaching: A Real Depiction Of Love

By on April 17, 2012

Foundational Scripture- Let Love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

Revelation-The truth of God’s Love cannot be hid

Dissimulation- To conceal, deceit, deception, or concealment of the truth…

As a believer our goal should be to spread the truth of God’s love to those who have not experienced the greatness, or the depth of his love. To be a Christian means that your life should reflect the character of God the Father, and Christ his son, who was offered as a living sacrifice for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind. Some of the truth’s of God’s Love is that his love reveals rather than conceals. God’s love is revealed to us through his continuos forgiveness of our sins, also his faithfulness those who love and obey him, and his consistency in answering our prayers. These are all ways in which God reveals(displays) his Love. True Love cannot be hid. The Bible states “Open rebuke is better than secret Love(prov.27:5), which denote’s that even when God loves us through discipline it has to be done in the open. Often the fear of being exposed or going through a period of shame will deter us from committing offenses(sins) that separate us from God. Our aim as followers of Christ should be to draw closer to God and to fellowship with him. The Bibles says “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth (1John 1:6). True Love does seek to hide or conceal, but seeks ways to reveal itself and to do that which is good…

Love- Separation vs Connection

Abhor-to despise, hate, detest

True love should cause you to separate from evil, and connect, or be drawn to things that are good. A hate for evil things is produced through your development of Love for God, and a will to do the things that please him. God’s love tells the truth, has no respect of persons, does not fluctuate or change. His love is not selfish, nor hateful. These are just a few of the attributes of Godly love, which every believer should seek to display unto God, as well as to those who we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. Reading and studying God’s word gives a clear understanding of who God is. His character is revealed through the scriptures and his word can be utilized as a tool to help us gain a deeper knowledge of God. Through his word you can discover what God likes and what he dislikes. You can never Love what God Loves and hate what he hates if you do not have a working knowledge of what those things consist of. Backbiting, being hateful, sinning against God, lies, deceit, are all things that you should abhor. Loving God teaches us how to love ourselves as well as other’s.
